The focus of my work so far has led me down a route of massages that people can really feel making a difference during and after the massage session. Through focused work on relaxing the body the mind will follow and many clients feel deeply relaxed, calm and reinvigorated this is helpful to first time mothers as well as mothers who already have children. I also offer sessions where partners can be involved which can be very useful through pregnancy and during birth. Please see my website for more details or call for a chat about your individual requirements. Best wishes, Amy

I am both a massage therapist and a Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncturist working in Glasgow, Southside. I have a special interest in women's health as well as acute and chronic pain. I can combine pregnancy massage with acupuncture to achieve the ultimate relaxation and individual treatment for your priorities and pregnancy needs. I can also use acupressure points (acupuncture without the needles) during your pregnancy massage treatment. I hold a remedial and sports massage qualification and some of these techniques can be used as appropriate.
I offer pregnancy massage for any stage of pregnancy. I use massage and / or acupressure from 36 weeks pregnant to help you to prepare for labour. This involves acupressure / acupuncture points on mainly your legs. The majority of my clients find that having weekly treatments helps reduce the likelihood of being induced. This treatment supports cervix ripening (early stages of dilation). Treatment sessions to teach your partner how to massage you are available. During these sessions, I will teach your partner relevant acupressure for labour preparation and for labour. A booklet with all the points taught is also provided.
If you do go past your due date, we can use a combination of massage and acupuncture to support you starting labour. Again I can teach your partner which acupressure points to use at home to support your labour.
At your appointment I will discuss your priorities, any health issues and check that you are happy with the treatment I have planned. Treatments can be adjusted to suit you. I have a Belloost pregnancy pillow for you to lie on when massaging your back and shoulders. It has a centre section cut away so that your belly is not squashed. Pregnant clients have commented on how comfortable this pillow is. Of course if you would prefer to lie on your side then that is good too.
Treatments are also available post pregnancy. Ask me about the healing and relaxing mother roasting with moxibustion.
I am MSc (Distinction) educated, holding an Acupuncture Diploma from Middlesex University. My thesis on acupuncture and endometriosis was awarded the prize for best dissertation in my year.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), The British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) and The Complementary Therapists Association (CThA). I am fully insured and my acupuncture clinic is licensed by Glasgow City Council.
If you have any questions about treatments with me, please get in touch. I offer a free 15 minutes, no obligation discovery call

Pregnancy massage is a soothing and relaxing treatment. A side lying position is used to perform gentle massage movements to warm the muscles and induce a feeling of well being. This is followed by deeper movements to reduce areas of tension in the back, lower and upper legs and arms. The benefit of pregnancy massage includes a sense of nurturing, relaxation, boost to the immune system, release of tension, soreness and stiffness in the joints and aids digestion.

Massage for fertility, pregnancy and postnatal.
I have been working with pregnant women for over 15 years and I learn more from them and am inspired by them daily. I aim to help pregnant women to feel comfortable and relaxed in pregnancy and to connect to their growing baby. I work with couples to help them to find ways to support each other during pregnancy and labour. My massage helps to ease aches and pains common in pregnancy. and provides space for sharing questions and anxieties. Women feel cared for and soothed through the massage, and resourced for their labour.
Postnatal massage is important for replenishing the energy spent during labour and in caring for a new born. I hope to reassure women and to allow them time to relax and recuperate. The postanatal period can be a challenging time, and I provide a safe and comforting space for women to express themselves or debrief their labour. The massage soothes tired muscles and brings strength and resilience.
I offer Closing the Bones ceremonies too - these ceremonies which include some massage and rocking and wrapping the pelvis in cloth originated in Equador and have been gifted to us in the West. The ceremonies honour the uterus from menstruation, pregnancy, postnatal to menopause and beyond. Women often feel the ceremony helps them to cope with past traumas, to recognise closure as they move through their life, or to celebrate the joy their uterus has brought them,
I am a Birth Doula and a Postnatal Doula too, working with families to help them to have the most positive birth and postnatal times.
