I have been a complementary therapist for over 15 years, most recently completing a Complementary healthcare degree Bsc (Hons) at Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2019 and the Well mother massage diploma in 2020. I offer treatments to support women with many aspects of pregnancy, providing personalised treatments with individual therapies or combining therapies to provide the optimal care for each individual. I'm Ann Ball and I run guru holistic therapies in Durham offering a wide range of complementary therapies. Having attended the Wellmother pregnancy and post natal courses in Bristol,  I use my  skills within my busy practice.

I specialise in working with fertility using fertility reflexology, reproductive reflexology, fertility massage and hypnotherapy. For pregnancy, I am well known in the North East for my pregnancy massage available in all trimesters, reflexology throughout the pregnancy and maternity reflexology. I offer mother blessings and am an inactive doula but use the skills to enhance my hypnobirthing classes.

I have been a holistic and beauty therapist for nearly 15 years. And I love it still! I started by completing my holistic diploma, then moved on to my beauty NVQ, collecting other treatments and skills along the way. Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand was particularly amazing and I am also a specialist in pregnancy massage, training first within the spa where I worked and then on to complete the prestigious Well Mother qualification with Suzanne. I have been fortunate to work in some exceptional spas including Space NK, The Dorchester and Groom based in Selfridges, London.

I have had 2 babies over the last 5 years and having them has certainly enriched my soul and my understanding of the human body, how it works and just how strong it can be, even in stages of healing or ill health. I now work from a treatment room within my home and I see a variety of clients who visit me for specialist massage, pregnancy/post natal massage and essential beauty treatments. Having the freedom to work for myself and provide clients with beautiful treatments in a truly relaxing space is very important to me. Mind and Body Scotland is owned by Renee who provides Hypnotherapy, aspects of pregnancy, birth and early parenting support including hypnobirthing, pregnancy massage, Doula services and Brain Working Recursive Therapy. Renee began working as a Complimentary Therapist in 2003 after training as a Reiki Master and a Massage Therapist. Specialising in Antenatal Care and Parenting Renee became a Well Mother Practitioner 2007 and then trained with NCT graduating from the University of Bedfordshire as an Antenatal Teacher 2012. At the same time she completed her training and became a recognised Birth & Postnatal Doula with Doula UK and the Scottish Doula Network.

As her work progressed Renee recognised that Hypnosis would help many of her clients, i.e. those with phantom limb pain, those for whom massage was not appropriate e.g. clients with cancer and the mums that she had been supporting for a number of years with teaching breathing, positions for labour & birth and relaxations. The needs of her clients encouraged her to train in Clinical Hypnotherapy 2014 and to go further and specialise in Hypnobirthing 2014 & 2017, Weight Management & Eating Issues 2016 & most recently Psychosexual Dysfuction 2017 and Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT) 2017.

Currently Renee is a Mentor of newly trained Doulas for Doula UK and a lay member of the NHS Lothian MSLC.

We can work on the couch in a sidelying position if that is comfortable for you, or we can exlore ways to seat you, leaning over the couch, or maybe even kneeling on the floor and over an excercise ball. Your comfort is my priority and we can try different ways until we find one that suits you. It may be that we try all of them over the 9 months!

If you are first time client, I'll get in touch before hand with a consulation form for you to fill in and return, this will help me to prepare for our first session together and talk about any special requirements you may have.
